2007 Domaine de la Cessane, Marsanne / Viognier, VdP d'Oc - £24.25

This light to medium bodied wine comes from Messrs Maurel and Vedeau, who are past masters when it comes to blending from some of the finest vineyards in the Languedoc.  

Their approach centres on freshness of flavour and definition; in this instance there is a rich and almost nutty sub-plot courtesy of the Marsanne and a virtuoso performance from the Viognier providing floral aromatics and satisfying white fruit complexity in the mouth. This seemingly unlikely pairing works extremely well.
